question
For Safaripark Beekse Bergen, we want to realize a new enclosure for okapis that focuses on the well-being and natural behaviors of these endangered forest giraffes. The enclosure must provide both a realistic, natural habitat and space for visitors to view the animals in a respectful manner. Integration into the park’s existing safari experience also had to be considered.
Our solution
We designed and realized an okapi habitat for Safaripark Beekse Bergen with spacious, natural-looking areas that encourage the behavior of this “forest giraffe. The habitat offers variety in vegetation, hiding places and sightlines for visitors, without disturbing the animals. There is also room for education and observation at a safe distance, fitting within the safari experience of the park.
