The
question
The municipality of Almere asked us to replace an outdated skate park in Beatrixpark with a modern and versatile skate park. The emphasis was on sustainability, efficiency and inclusiveness for young skaters, bmx, inliners and steppers. So this is the renovation of an existing park, you can see this reflected in our design by retaining the original Snakerun. Almost unique in the Netherlands!
Our solution
We designed a skate facility that blends into the surrounding greenery by including green accents within the skate park. Low and high elements, organic forms and safe areas to chill out provide accessibility and usability for athletes and visitors.
